Joe Flacco – making a difference in a child’s life

Most people associate who professional athletes are for what they do on the field. Rarely do we get opportunities to see or hear actions that defines the athletes true character.

On Friday December 24th, I got to see firsthand one of those actions that demonstrates who Joe Flacco really is off the field. Pat Navarro, director of operations at FX studios sent Flacco an email asking him if he wanted to come in for a massage before the holidays and if she could introduce her 11 year old niece, a wonderful special needs child and unbelievable ravens fan. Joe quickly responded back and declined the massage but offered to make time for a special visit on Christmas eve with her niece.
Flacco spent a good hour taking pictures, signing personalized jerseys and just hung out with Pat and her sisters family.  Never for one second did Flacco portray he was doing a favor or did not want to be there. Joe was so humble and sincere. He made everyone comfortable and genuinely seemed to be having a great time! He left us all with a lifelong memory and undoubtedly gave Pat’s niece the highlight of her holiday! Little things that make a big difference should never go unnoticed. I would like to personally thank Joe Flacco for his generous donation of time. Joe Flacco has truly shown his desire to make a difference in the life of one child on Christmas eve!
