Experience I started coaching athletes as a Sports Performance Coach in college, helping athletes reach their goals of getting faster, stronger and more explosive. The athletes ranged from High School to the Division 1 level, up to college graduates looking to go pro. During that time I had several part time personal training clients as well, and they had goals equally specific but very different. I used my training methods to help my clients lose weight and tone their bodies. It was greatly rewarding and after a short break from training, I became a member of the FX team in the first week of August 09.
Why You Began Training I began training in college, but my love for sports and exercise goes all the way back to my childhood. I've found that doing what you love makes all the difference and I love fitness and working with people to achieve their goals. It's a very rewarding experience to be a part of someone's determined plan for excellence.
Favorite Aspect of Training My favorite aspect of training is the part when clients start to see results. The 'light bulb' moment where it clicks is awesome and very rewarding.
Exercise Philosophy My technical philosophy is that challenging exercise enhances the mind and body, and makes them functionally healthier.

My metaphorical philosophy is that everyone who exercises is travelling on a path towards a goal that is constantly changing - as soon as one set of goals is reached, new goals are established or re-evaluated, and the journey begins. NO ONE has arrived and EVERYONE is working on something.

My favorite quote applies to life in general but specifically exercise because it's not always a matter of pounds lifted or miles run.

"The difference between a successfull person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will." - Vince Lombardi

Under Armour Combine 360 Certified
CPR / AED Certified
Turbokick® Certified and AFAA Group Exercise
Continuing Education PTontheNET, IDEA World Fitness Conference
Experience I worked as a trainer for Central Michigan University teaching college credits to students and training, was involved in research studying the effects of runners and fat loss and nutrition, worked at a kids camp in upstate New York inspiring and educating the effects exercise and a healthy lifestyle can do for the entire mind, body, and spirit. I finished with an internship at Fitness Quest 10 in San Diego, California with Todd Durkin training and coaching pro athletes, college athletes, kids, and adults.
Why You Began Training I have been an athlete since I can remember. I was involved in gymnastics, track, snowboarding, cheerleading, and soccer. My goals as an athlete were to be competitive, attain leadership, and enjoy the game. It was after a serious sports injury and physical therapy that I decided I wanted to explore all aspects of the exercise sciences and work in the promotions of health and fitness. I continue to share my passion for sport and health with others, which has brought me to FX Studios.
Favorite Aspect of Training FUN! When I can get someone to look forward to coming to see me, than I have changed their view of fitness and turn it into a part of their passions.
Exercise Philosophy I consider the body the most important asset in our lives and believe it deserves special attention!

"You've got to follow your passion. You've got to figure out what it is you love--who you really are. And have the courage to do that. I believe that the only courage anybody ever needs is the courage to follow your own dream."
Oprah Winfrey
